OUR STORY

Cotton & Loom is a small, London-based family business offering high-quality Turkish towels made from 100% Turkish cotton and linen, traditionally known in Türkiye as peştemal. Each piece is woven with care in Denizli, Buldan; a region celebrated as the heartland of peştemal weaving, where generations of artisans continue to preserve this cultural craft.

The brand began as a mother–daughter idea, born from our shared love for Turkish textiles and heritage. My mother encouraged me to travel to Buldan to source directly from local manufacturers and today she carefully packages each order herself often adding a fresh sprig of lavender from our garden, while I focus on nurturing and growing the business. Together, we’re proud to continue a family legacy; a homage to my grandfather who owned a traditional hamam in Istanbul.

Our towels are woven from raw, natural fibres, free from harsh chemicals and produced in small batches by a family-run manufacturer that upholds traditional methods. The linen collection, in particular, is made entirely on kara-tezgah, a heritage handloom technique that produces beautifully textured, long-lasting fabrics. What sets our towels apart from generic alternatives is their unique balance of practicality and comfort — they’re highly absorbent, quick-drying, lightweight, flexible and incredibly versatile while being soft to touch.

At Cotton & Loom, sustainability is rooted in respect; for the artisans who weave our products, the natural materials we use, and the Turkish traditions we’re proud to share with the world.
